Greetings friend! Please, stop for a spell and rest your weary behind on my blog-bench. It may seem hard to believe, but the respite that you're currently enjoying is a byproduct of a McDonald's Fish Filet. McDonalds: I'm lovin' it...pretty much every day.
This weekend I attended the annual Durham Beerfest, where hundreds of booths from around the country pour their versions of 2oz into oversized shot glasses.
Attendance fee: $0, Shot glass: $35 (must pay in advance).
Of course, participants and cleanup crews had to deal with the fact that 2oz, although a small amount, is still a finite amount of alcohol, and 47 visits to the HaugenRoo Emu Draft booth still yields a near-solid 8 standard cans of flightless-bird-tainted brew.
This and other recent activities of mine have been benefited by NC fall weather, which resembles MN summer weather but without the Lutherans. For example, a newly beautified Duke Library system has been a particularly nice backdrop to my current application processes, despite the fact that it is roughly a mile from the nearest legal parking space a requires a climb of at least 150 vertical ft. An added boon is said institution's failure to notice my absence from the University’s current employment list, allowing me unlimited to access internet, printing, and amiable librarians, all of which lie within spitting distance of the campus Golden Arches. Sadly, payroll is not among the uninformed.
I leave you there, friend, hopefully I've erased the grimace that may have painted your face and replaced it with a clown smile. Sincerely,
Lee
